ABSTRACT
Peoples Temple was a religious movement which began in the 1950s in Indianapolis, moved to California in the 1960s and flourished there in the 1970s, emigrated to Guyana, South America in 1977, and collapsed in a mass murder-suicide of nine hundred people on 18 November 1978 in Jonestown, Guyana.
