ABSTRACT

At the center of any apocalyptic view of history is the notion that the approach of the time of the End will be marked and heralded by certain “signs” or indications, set forth in the prophetic portions of the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures. The idea is that such a “revelation” (Greek word apokalypsis), known only to God, but revealed to his prophets, can serve as a warning and a call to repentance to those wise enough to interpret the signs of the times (Amos 3:7; Daniel 12:9-10).
