ABSTRACT
Heaven’s Gate was a U.S. “flying saucer cult” of the late twentieth century. The group gained tremendous notoriety, first when people dramatically abandoned families and jobs to join the group in the 1970s, and then when remaining members of the group were discovered dead in a San Diego suburb in March 1997.
