ABSTRACT
Millennium’s long career as a key figure of the Judeo-Christian literary imagination can be traced back to its earliest formulation in Zoroastrian cosmology, through its extended exploration by centuries of European artists and writers, to its more recent enlistment as a central symbol of America’s selfconceived mythology.
