After familiarizing yourself with the camera you are going to use, you are ready to take your first pictures. Here’s a brief checklist before you start:

1 Is there a film loaded? 2 Is it the right sort for what I want to do? (See page 241 ‘Film’.) 3 If you have to set the film speed (ASA) manually (you do on most of the

cameras listed above), then remember to set it at the right setting. If you don’t your pictures will either be over or underexposed.
