ABSTRACT
My third journey into the war zone at the top of the world took me to one of the strangest conflicts in history. Over the years, I had heard reports that India and Pakistan were engaged in a bitter struggle over a vast glacier called Siachen, somewhere deep in the frozen mountain wastes between northern Kashmir and Tibet. It would be extraordinarily difficult to find a remoter or more hostile place on Earth.
