ABSTRACT
For use of copyright material by the BBC on radio or television, set rates are negotiated regularly between the BBC, the Publishers Association and the Society of Authors. Payment is calculated according to the length of time of the broadcast. At the time of writing, new contracts and revised rates have been agreed for payment from 5 October 2005.
