PAC (politics) An organization (especially created by a CORPORATION, INTEREST GROUP or labor UNION1) designed to raise money and donate that money to the CAMPAIGNS of candidates. Currently, there are several thousand active PACs. Although PACs are an important way for candidates to do FUND-RAISING some opponents believe that they have too strong an influence over government officials once they are elected.
