ABSTRACT
G ujarati is a Western New Indo-Ayran language and is the official language of the state of G ujarat, where it is spoken by about 25 million people. It also spreads into M aharashtra, and is spoken by Gujarati communities in every m ajor city in India. The total num ber of speakers is estimated at around 30 million.
