ABSTRACT
This book's main ambition was to broaden the discussion of urban power from its traditional focus on urban government and urban politics – while not neglecting the centrality of both categories to urban political life and urban studies in general – to a more diverse set of fields in which cities, regions and states operate as both the site and agent of a complex ensemble of governmentalities.
