ABSTRACT
The perfect showcase has still not been invented; museum designers say that designing showcases is often the most difficult job they are called on to do. Whether they are built by museum technicians or bought ‘off the shelf’, museum showcases are too often unsatisfactory. Often they are very expensive too! In specifying showcases for the museum, there are general principles that you should bear in mind. The following is a checklist of standards that every museum showcase should meet.
