ABSTRACT
Moroccan novelist and dramatist writing in French. Born in Fez, Laâbi founded the review Souffles in 1966, which introduced new, experimental methods of writing into Morocco. Arrested in 1972, he was not freed until July 1980. He has lived in France since 1985.
