ABSTRACT
The Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution requires that any taking of private property for public use must be justly compensated. Similarly, Article 17 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights holds that:
Everyone has the right to own property alone as well as in association with others.
No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his property. 1
