ABSTRACT
Situated somewhere in a typology of political journalism between news (although it may often become news) and the ‘summing up’ stage of interpretation and commentary, is the interview – the public interrogation, in the media, of political actors by journalists. The interview is a key moment in the political news cycle, and the main context in which the journalistic tasks associated with critical publicity and representation of the public can be directly applied to politicians in the media.
