ABSTRACT
The previous chapter offered a definition of TQM, emphasising its importance in relation to the management of professional development in schools. This chapter builds on the importance of TQM principles to a learning organisation through an examination of the Investors in People (IIP) standard. A description of the IIP standard is followed by a case study of a school’s application to retain the standard it had achieved in 1996.
