ABSTRACT
Requirement C1 seeks to address the risks associated with unsuitable material on the building site, contaminants on or in the ground (covered by the building and any land associated with the building) and groundwater. This is only as far as is necessary to ensure the health and safety of persons in and about buildings. Requirement C2 deals specifically with the resistance of the building to moisture penetration, including the causes listed below, via the floor walls and roof.
