ABSTRACT
The nuisance of sound is regarded as a health and safety issue for persons living in dwellings, and rooms for residential purposes, where the enclosing construction of a dwelling needs to be able to control noise levels emanating from adjoining dwellings, other buildings or other parts of the same building. The occupants of the dwelling should be allowed to follow normal domestic activities, including sleep and rest, without threat to their health from sound sources.
