ABSTRACT

The adequate assessment of response validity/ bias, after many years of preliminary research, has come to be understood in recent years as a necessary and integral part of the neuropsychological evaluation. Although the context of the evaluation (e.g., setting, patient population) may influence to some degree the nature and extent of validity testing, a quantifiable, standardized assessment of response validity is required in order to make an informed opinion regarding the validity of the results of neuropsychological ability measures regardless of context.
