ABSTRACT
Damastes (late C5 bc) A historical writer, little of whose work survives. A native of Sigeum in Asia Minor and a pupil of hellanicus, he wrote several treatises, including Events in Greece, a Periplus (description of the coastal regions of the Mediterranean), Peoples and Cities, Poets and Sophists, and The Ancestors of Those Who Fought at Troy.
