Echecrates (C4 bc) A Pythagorean philosopher from Phlius in the Argolid. A pupil of ARCHYTAS of Tarentum and of Eurytus, he became a friend of plato (1) and axistoxenus. He is a marginal character in Plato’s Phaedo, in which phaedo is represented as giving Echecrates an account of socrates’ last day and his discourse on the nature of life and death.
