ABSTRACT
A full range o f progressive (or 'continuous ') verb forms is constructed from the appropriate forms o f estar as auxi l ia ry a n d the gerund o f the verb i n quest ion (see Chapter 22): estic descansant, van estar xerrant, estarem treballant, etc. These resemble Eng l i sh 'I'm resting', 'they were chatting' , 'we shall be w o r k i n g ' , etc., but some very specific dist inctions and restrictions apply.
