ABSTRACT

To the surprise of politicians, journalists and many economists, competition policy in the Netherlands is increasingly coming under attack from EC competition policy. A subject that has for decades received almost no attention in the mass media and the financial and even professional media, is suddenly a news item. Not a ver^ hot item maybe, but one can now regularly read articles on the subject. The prestigious Dutch paper N R C even published a series of articles under the heading Nederland Kartelland (The Netherlands: Nation of Cartels).
