ABSTRACT
In the first chapter we have laid out, by means of a diagram, the general framework in relation to the social structure of the family and social relationship within the family, aspects which are observable in ancestor worship and filial piety in the context of inter-family relations in the orbit of village organization. Here we must bear in mind that we are dealing with these aspects in China proper, and in a period from the Chou dynasty to the beginning of the Communist government.
