Conclusions

It is claimed that the Caliph Mu'awiya's dying injunction to his son Yazid was that,in order to keep the people of Iraq quiet, it was essential to give them a new governor every time they wanted one, however frequently. This book should have shown that such advice still would have been of relevance to Iraq during the period under study.
