ABSTRACT
Many outsiders fail to take into account this entwinement between culture and political ideology amongst the Afrikaners. Western cultures can generally fall back on languages and histories dating back centuries. It is impossible to understand completely - unless one is from a colonised culture or belongs to a minority language group in Europe (vide the Flemish), the role of language and culture in the shaping of the political ideology of the Afrikaner.
