ABSTRACT

The effectiveness of industrial dispersal policy in Israel has been analysed in several studies, most of which have utilised the official division of the State of Israel into the fourteen subdistricts shown in Figure 6.1. These subdistricts have been generally classified into three groups: the two industrial core units of Tel Aviv and Haifa; a group of six centrally located subdistricts ranging from Hadera in the north to Rehovot in the south, including Jerusalem; and a group comprising six peripheral subdistricts-four in the north of the country and two in the south.
