ABSTRACT
Kivas (the semi-underground ceremonial chambers) since no metal containers or implements are allowed in these sacred places. In the many ceremonial dances where men and women dance together (on the Rio Grande these are usually those involving the two moieties dancing alternately) then they eat together in the Kivas while non-dancers and visitors are served in the homes.
