ABSTRACT

The beginning of any scientific revolution owes itself to the construction of or revisitation in epistemology, the theory of knowledge pertaining to the discipline under investigation. This has been the trend with scholarship both among the occidental schools and the Islamic thinkers, who themselves had contributed to the scientific epistemology of the Occident in certain ways. Therefore, while it is important to discern the origins and foundations of scientific reconstruction on epistemological questions, it is equally important to note what the principal undercurrents of scientific revolution have been historically to modern times. This is to assess whether the epistemological directions of scientific inquiries are being well directed or not.
