ABSTRACT

Mirja Juntunen Mirja Juntunen is a Ph.D. Candidate of Indology as well as lecturer of Sanskrit and Hindi and editor-in-chief of publications at the Institute of Oriental Languages, Stockholm. Her Ph.D. work has been devoted to the textual and cartographical sources of the town plan of Jaipur. With insights in language development and sociolinguistic processes in India acquired through repeated field trips, especially to the northern parts of the country, she is now conducting research on writing systems of Indian origin in Central Asia.
