ThisissituatedontherighthandsideoftheGo-jik-kenmichi.Formerlytherewasonthissiteashrinecalled YoshitokuInari,butoflateyearstheEnomotoInari(atthe cornerofYedo-choNi-cho-me)theKa.i-unInari(atthecorner ofKyo-machi,It-cho-me)theKurosukelnari(atthecorner ofKyo-machiNi-cho-me)andtheAkashiInariatthecorner ofYedo-choNi-cho-me-Fushimi-cho)wereallamalgamated intoone.Thenameof"YoshiwaraJinja"wasgiventothe newshrineandithasbeenmadetheguardianshrineofthe "enclosure."Everytwelvedays,onthedayofthehorse,the festivalofthisshrineiscelebrated,crowdsofpeoplevisitthe neighbourhoodincludingsundryitinerantdealersknownas "ennichiakindu"(festiv1:1ldealers)andthefetehasbecomeone ofthepopularfeaturesoftheYo~hiwara.Accordingtothe "ShimpenYedo-shi,"(~fii[p;.t;)theKurosukeInariwasin theoldYoshiwara,havingbeenfoundedinthe4thyearof 'Vado?(711?).Lateron,apersonnamedChibaKurosuke removedittoaspaceontheborderofapaddy-field,andsince theestablishmentoftheYoshiwara,intheera.ofKeichu (15H6-1614),thisInaribecametheguardiandeityoftheprostitudequarter.Again,accordingtothe"KwagaiManroku"

(~t~Ji~{j)t)theshrineoftheKnrosukeInariwassituatedbeneathKyo-machiNi-cho-mesinceitsremovalfromtheoldto thenewYoshiwara,andabouttheeraofTenna(1681-1683)it begantobecalled"Kurosuke"Inaribecauseamancalled Kurosukelivedinfrontofthebuilding.
