ABSTRACT

ALTHOUGH it was difficult to secure passages even a year after the Armistice, we managed to return to Egypt, leaving November 19, 1919. Our workers this year were the Engelbachs, the Bruntons, Miss Hughes, Jefferies and Captain Miller. We left Cairo December 8; a general strike of cabs was started, and we had to get porters to carry baggage. The light railway in the Fayum took us to Bashkatib about a mile from Lahun pyramid.
