THE British Museum is very rich in MSS. of this Romance — beginning with one of the rarest quality (Harley 3775), vellum, circa 1300. The Royal, Sloane, Additional, Cotton, Harleian, and Lans-downe Collections, all have MSS. of fourteenth and fifteenth century, but the earliest known printed copy is French.
