ABSTRACT
THE migrating of grouse is now pretty well accepted as among the causes of scarcity of birds on a moor, in addition to grouse disease, which used to bear the sole blame. In the case of grouse disease, the dead birds found on the moor leave no doubt as to its existence; but when no dead birds are found, other causes of scarcity of birds must exist.
