ABSTRACT
FROM TIME immemorial nature has filled the mind of man with wonder and stirred his imagination. He has woven all sorts of fancies and invented numerous legends to explain the phenomena that excited his amazement and admiration. The sun, the moon and the stars, the fauna and flora, animals, forests and trees, have all found a place in the Folklore of all nations, and many legends and superstitions have grown up round them.
