ABSTRACT
The sequence of events concerned with the teaching of military drill in the London Board schools merits separate consideration. The Board was targeted by the Society of Arts, and for a number of years the annual drill displays jointly staged by the Society and the School Board were a powerful advertisement for military drill instruction.
