ABSTRACT
The prize ring, as indicated in earlier chapters, was the inspiration and subject matter of the first developmental steps of the screen art. Major Latham tried to build a projector to put prize fight pictures on the screen. Enoch J. Rector increased the scope of the camera to record long fight scenes. Biograph essayed the first photography under artificial lights to record a :fight. Now the prize fight had served and it was done.
