ABSTRACT

ON account of my own and my little boys' state of health, it was thought necessary that I should visit the Cape Colony for a change, and in September, 1863, I left on my journey to the south.

Before starting, it was agreed, at a meeting of the brethren, that the time had now come for printing some books, as a beginning, in the Isindebele language, and that I should, on my way down to the colony, whilst at the Kuruman, carry the same through the press, which was accordingly done. These books were a first elementary, and a hymn book.
