ABSTRACT

IT has been already stated that the mission to Central South Africa consisted of t,vo branches-the one to the Amandebele, and the otller to the Makololo. The missionaries appoil1ted to establish the latter were Messrs. Helmore, M'Kenzie, and Price. Domestic circumstances rendered the long journey, at that tilne, for Mr. and Mrs. M'Kenzie, quite impossible. Therefore, lVlr. and Mrs. Helmore, with their four childI-en, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Price, left the Kuruman in the beginning of July, 1859, and reached Linyanti-the end of theil· journey, on the 14tll of Februal·y, 1860, having thus been seven months.
