ABSTRACT
There are many health and safety problems associated with buildings. Indeed, most accidents occur in the home, although this is not an indication of extreme danger associated with the house and its content, but simply a reflection of the amount of time that we spend in our homes. It is not intended that this chapter should be a comprehensive review of health and safety problems associated with buildings, but that it should instead draw attention to particular problems and discuss those which currently create most public concern.
