ABSTRACT
It was pointed out earlier that the purpose of war and combat is to force a reluctant adversary to submit to one's own will by the use of brute force. Other chapters have also made clear that success or failure in battle depends above all on the front-line fighter. Therefore, armed forces, when deciding on personnel selection, organization, or weapons development, must take into consideration his probable behaviour.
