ABSTRACT
NEO-TRADITIONALISM in Buganda was a special kind of political ideology. It allowed internal division in the name of internal unity. It sought to expunge from the social record those more obvious scores and issues which, alien in their expression, threatened the survival of the society itself. At the same time it took as its own those political and economic innovations which appeared to enhance the Kingdom.
