ABSTRACT
Prevention of Terrorism (Additional Powers) Act 1996, and also the Offensive Weapons Bill is currently passing through Parliament which is intended to become law by the summer of 1996 and will provide further police powers. It is important at this stage to give the general definition of a police officer who is described as a citizen in uniform, and/or the holder of a warrant card, who is given certain additional powers in order that he or she may perform their duty.
