ABSTRACT

In international schools, special learning needs students encompass English as a Second Language (ESL) learners, those with learning disabilities and/or students of exceptionally high abilities and talents. In many international schools these special learning needs students, taken as a whole, may represent the majority of students. Thus it is not surprising that the European Council of International Schools (ECIS) has a particular interest in guiding their schools in attempting to meet these students' learning needs.
