Making a virtue of necessity - a low-cost, comprehensive online teaching and learning environment

There is a growing literature on the problems faced by universities at the present time that reflects a striking unanimity on the issues involved, whether the institution be in the developed or developing nations, has a long and proud history or is a relative newcomer to the tertiary scene, and teaches principally on-campus or at a distance.
