ABSTRACT
Delivery of a talk is the translating of symbols into meaningful thoughts; it is not translating them into words. The error made by most beginning speakers is to read words rather than thoughts. Reading words results in choppy and unintelligible delivery. With proper delivery techniques, you tell the audience how to understand the words you are saying. In discussing each of these attributes of voice and making suggestions for delivering the talk, I will attempt to include recommendations for marking your manuscript, in case you are going to read, to give valuable instructions to yourself in delivering the talk. This is in line with what was suggested in the chapter on "Preparing the Manuscript. "
