ABSTRACT
The ARL Foreign Acquisitions Project is the result of a four-year study of trends in global information resources in member libraries of the Association of Research Libraries. This project was directed toward developing a clearer understanding of the forces influencing North American research libraries' ability to build and maintain collections of publications produced outside the United States and Canada.
