This chapter provides a sample procedure detailing who in the library needs to be involved at which points in the selection/acquisition/cataloging process for electronic resources. Collection development is just one of the issues and questions pertaining to online serials. There is a considerable body of professional literature covering pricing, archiving, copyright, cataloging and bibliographic control, selection policies, etc.; a sampling of these is included in the bibliography. The following template is adaptable to your institutional needs to ensure the necessary people are involved at the right time.
