ABSTRACT
Similar to hypotheses, assumptions are propositions, but rather than test them you decide to take them as givens for the purpose of your study. Your hypothesis is a proposition to be studied; your assumptions are propositions to take for granted. Do all studies make assumptions? Pretty much. Assumptions put studies into context, helping others to understand your mind-set as you begin-where you’re “coming from.”
