ABSTRACT

This report on the Republic of South Africa's progress in working through truth telling to affect reconciliation of its nation, has supplied useful guidance to us-particularly because a family divided is similar to a nation divided. The dissociated and even warring groups within both nations and families have a common history, a common present, and a common future. As with a nation formed into factions, a family business hoping to secure its future needs to reunite. It can do this by seeking the truths and realities of the past and the present; reconciling disagreements over differently perceived truths, especially when they collide; and using its members' collective wisdom to establish a plan for a shared future.
