ABSTRACT
The land capability classification system is a system that has been developed by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to determine the limitations of types of soils for agricultural use. This system does not classify soils according to their yield potential but to their potential for damage and to the particular soil needs. For example, a sandy loam soil will have different needs than a heavy clay soil and will require different management and crop considerations.
